Poza El Crucero
Poza El Crucero is the town's swimming hole: a stretch of calm water on the Puangue River, north of Curacaví and about 16 km in a straight line from the center, where you can swim. It sits in a part of the valley ringed by hills covered in native scrub and cacti, with stony banks and streamside vegetation. Access is free. The last stretch of the way is a dirt road and, near the water, there is a flat clearing with trees beside the road. It's a place to swim, look at the water, walk along the bank and take photos at an easy pace. The photos on this page are from October 2026, in spring, with shrubs in bloom and yellow flowers along the bank; the flow and the colors of the landscape change through the year.
Before you go
You can swim here, but it is a river in a rural area: the depth and the current change through the year, and we have no confirmed information about facilities, restrooms or lifeguards. Enter with care and keep an eye on children. The last stretch of the road is dirt. Bring water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes, and take your trash with you.
