Cerro El Mauco
Cerro El Mauco is one of the most recognized summits on the border between Curacaví and Casablanca, within a nature reserve open to hiking. Its rocky silhouette stands out from much of the valley, and is a regular destination for those looking for a hike with a panoramic view of the area.
Before you go
The climb up Mauco takes 4 to 6 hours round trip, with steep sections and little shade. Treat it as a half-day outing, not a stop within a route with other places. Go early in the morning, bring plenty of water, sun protection and trekking shoes. Don't climb in rain or fog, and let someone know your plan.
